Welcome to AP Second Sememster

We are going to be pursuing the understanding of poetry and the analysis and enjoyment of it. We will also be working to reach higher scores on the AP test as well as finding books that we enjoy reading in order to foster that pursuit. Students will be writing short summaries of what they've read in/out of school over their careers too.

Student reviewed for a test today and were told exactly what would be on the test and even practiced it a bit in class. Students also wrote introductions for a grade and should have them done in the next couple of days. Test day will be Friday and Monday.

Literary terms quiz went well today! We read Hamlet and next class will be a prose day.

We started Hamlet today. Students will complete a stand and deliver literary terms quiz next time. Students should have a research essay on anti-transcendentalism in their drive too.

Students completed a timed writing today about Scarlet Letter and also answered 10 AP style multiple choice questions. We'll be starting Hamlet next class.

Today students discussed literary terms 2 and were told about a quiz. Students also created short prezis on a Hawthorne short story.

Today students discussed Hawthorne's style. We also took a quiz on literary terms 2. The students were assigned the first six chapters of The Scarlet Letter for Thursday.
